The d3 Concept
D3 is more than a modern interpretation of traditional Cycladic architecture.
It’s a contemporary reimagining of tradition, where history, design, and the natural landscape converge through a fresh and bold lens. This project redefines the Cycladic archetype for both today and tomorrow — transforming the past into a vision for the future.
The architectural inspiration behind D3 stems from the classic cave-like, ground-floor dwellings — seamlessly embedded in the natural landscape. Constructed from raw rock, these timeless structures shaped the very terrain they inhabited. D3 revives that spirit with a modern perspective, using local identity as its foundation while pushing it into a new era.
The dominant materials — stone, metal, and exposed concrete — express both authenticity and innovation, creating a bold architectural language where aesthetic and functionality coexist. It’s a laid-back luxury concept we call Cycladic livin’.
Sustainability Strategy
D3’s architectural statement extends beyond visual impact — it embodies a clear commitment to sustainability.
Designed with a strong bioclimatic and environmental approach, the building minimizes energy use and deepens its connection to the natural surroundings. It utilizes natural materials recovered from excavation, applies traditional techniques, and integrates modern sustainable technologies — all of which align with a responsible, forward-thinking vision.
Project Team
The concept and architectural design were envisioned by Christos Vlachos and Kyriakos Keoglou of wip architects.
Civil engineering, construction, and project supervision were led by Yannis Pittaras of Pittaras Domiki.
